Schools that take the physical development of their learners seriously, contribute immensely towards nation building. At Milton primary school, we challenge the challenge until the challenge is no longer a challenge.
Athletics
"Dreams are free, goals have a cost. While you can daydream for free, Goals don't come without a price. Time, effort, sacrifice and sweat. How will you pay for your goals?" - Usain Bolt
In athletics…It’s not how you start the race but how you end the race. In sport, what you put in is what you will get out.
Soccer
"You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it." - Lionel Messi
Mini-Football Convenor:
Mr D. Mouton
There may be people that have more talent than you, but there is no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do. At this level of the game, plenty of ball touches & fun matters.
Senior Football Convenor:
Mr. E. Mophuthing
Behind every fearless player is a fearless coach who refused to let them be anything but the best they can be. In football, the best form of defence is to attack, while at it, fair play takes centre stage.
Netball
"Netball players with goals succeed because they know where they are going." - Felicity Luckey
Mini-Netball
Mini-Netball is the modified form of the game offered to learners between the ages of 6-9 years old. This modified form allows all the learners to participate because we rotate positions during the game. The learners have fun and the game is not taken so seriously.
Senior Netball
We here at Milton love our Netball. It is not only an opportunity for our girls to have some fun, but also a place where they learn discipline and proper sportsmanship. We focus on learning skills so that we can be the very best netball players we can be. We strive to give our girls every opportunity to develop and master their craft so that they are not just prepared for practice, but also their opponents. We practice like we never won and perform as if we never lost.

Hockey
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
- Wayne Gretzky
Mini-Hockey
Mini hockey is a smaller version of the big game, which is tailored for the needs of young hockey players. At Milton Primary, mini hockey is offered from Grade 1 to Grade 3.
Mini hockey is an ideal learning environment for the young ones which facilitates more touches of the ball and encourages passing and receiving. It also creates a real game situation. It allows the player to think under pressure and to make effective decisions and moves. At Milton we play and learn the art of hockey, while having fun!
Senior Hockey
At Milton, we pride ourselves with our girl’s hockey teams. Hockey has so much importance in our country. It develops hand-eye coordination, improves the resistance power of their hands, and increases the spontaneous responses and reactions during the game.

Tennis
"If you still have one more point to play, no matter what the score is, you still got a chance to make a difference in your favor." - Victoria Azarenka
Tennis is an excellent sport for young athletes, and it offers several benefits that aren’t often found in other sport. From its low injury risk to its big fun guarantee, here are four reasons why children should play tennis:
- Social benefit
- Low risk of injury
- Great exercise and
- Excellent motor skill development
